Jenny here! You may be wondering where Anna North is... sadly for us, Anna has moved on to greater heights and is no longer Editor. FINALLY AT 40 wishes Anna all the best in her new ventures. So it's now me again, yes me! What a year 2008 has been, and Christmas is only a few days away – can you believe it?
I adore Christmas and I'm sure I speak for thousands of others across Australia. For me, the festive season certainly brings about an atmosphere of love and peace with family and friends... although for some, loneliness will be experienced. What does Christmas mean to you? A holiday, a break away from your work place, time away with family, a vast selection of food? For me, the celebration of Christmas brings to mind the birth of Jesus, born 2000 years ago to bring good news - not religion, but life to all man. As we gather around the tree this December 25th to open our gifts, let's remember one of the greatest gifts of all – the birth of a special child whose life is the very reason Christmas was first celebrated and will always be.
No doubt you've noticed our gorgeous cover girl, comedian Tracy Bartram. If you're anything like me, you'll laugh and cry through her remarkable story on page 6. 'Tis the season to eat, and I'm sure this issue's health articles will also interest you. Now that I'm in my 40s, I'm always searching for ways to stay healthy and slow down the aging process, (even if it doesn't include cakes, cakes and more cakes.)
I would like to thank our regular contributors for their part in 2008. Chrissy Fraser not only places a smile on our reader's faces but is an incredible asset to the FINALLY AT 40 office. Helen Robinett, Cheryle Nye, Claudia Raab, Kathryn Avramakis, Terri Vinson, Kelly Misiano, Merril Bowater, Nellie Dicks and Ida are truly wonderful women who continually offer insightful articles. Thank you also to the wonderful Jean Hailes Foundation - and who can forget our gentleman Bert Frigo... we love your male viewpoint!
